Quiz without Feedback Messages – eLearning

Why?

Multiple users asked me how to get rid of the default Success/Failure messages on quiz slides in the New Captivate version. Especially now that it is possible to have the correct answers hidden during Review, this seems a logical question. Depending on the situation, you do not always want an immediate feedback after each question.

It took me some time to find a workaround in version 12.2 (Charm) and it is all but perfect. The big problem is that so far I couldn’t reduce the Submit process to one step as was possible in previous versions.

Example

This short quiz (5 questions) will not show Success/Last Attempt messages. Attempts are limited to 1 both on question and quiz level. I warn with a short audio clip once to click a second time after submitting, this needs to be done on each question slide. You can review the quiz from the score slide, without seeing the correct answers. I also took out the Review messages on the score slide, and showed Success/Failure on an extra slide, which is always recommended for each project with a quiz.

I will explain the workflows in a blog post.
