Coursera appoints Susan Muigai to the Board of Directors


Today, we are delighted to announce that Susan Muigai, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at TransUnion, has joined Coursera’s Board of Directors. Alongside her HR leadership, Susan brings deep expertise in working with international markets and extensive experience in engaging frontline workers. 

“As we continue on our growth trajectory, it’s important to be guided by a diverse board with unique skill sets,” said Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera. “Susan’s invaluable global experience and customer perspective as a seasoned CHRO will help enhance our company strategy and strengthen our ability to serve learners and institutions worldwide.”

Susan brings over 20 years of global leadership experience to Coursera. She joined TransUnion in October 2021, where she is responsible for the company’s HR strategy and nurturing a high-performance culture to help the company achieve its vision and strategy. Before TransUnion, Susan spent 16 years in various leadership positions at Walmart, including serving as Senior Vice President, People, for Walmart International where she supported 550,000 employees across 25 countries. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor, Canada, and a Master of Laws from both the University of London and York University, Canada.
